Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

  • The B.A. programme provides a broad-based education in humanities and social sciences. It focuses on developing critical thinking, communication skills, analytical abilities, and domain knowledge in disciplines such as English, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, and more (as offered by the college).

Programme Objectives

  • To promote understanding of human behaviour, society, culture, and communication.
  • To develop analytical and research skills.
  • To prepare students for careers in education, media, research, social sector, administration, and civil services.

Eligibility

1. Passed HSC (Std. XII) from Maharashtra Board or equivalent with:

  • English
  • Any one of the Modern Indian Languages or Modern Foreign Languages or any classical Language or Information Technology
  • Any four subjects carrying 100 marks each

OR

2. Passed HSC with vocational subjects with the following subjects :

  • English
  • One 200-mark vocational subject
  • Any three subjects carrying 100 marks each

OR

3. Passed HSC with Minimum Competency based vocational course with the following subjects :

  • English
  • Any one of the Modern Indian Languages or Modern Foreign Languages or Classical Language or Information Technology
  • General Foundation Course
  • General Foundation Course
  • Any one subject carrying 300 marks from among the Minimum Competency based vocational courses prescribed by the Higher Secondary School Certificate examination from time to time

OR

Passed an equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University

Admission Procedure

Merit-based admission as per University of Mumbai norms.

Programme Duration

3 Years / 4 Years (Honours) as per NEP 2020.
